Riley Barkowsky

Originally from West Texas, Riley Barkowsky currently lives in Denton, Texas. She received her BFA in Photography with a minor in Art History from the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. Her work centers on issues of identity, feminism, mental health, and the physical and metaphysical spaces we occupy as humans. She depicts her stories with a combination of analog and digital media, including photography, hands-on development processes, and computer software.

Tad Greenwald

Tad Greenwald was born in Plano, Texas in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in 2021. His first solo exhibition Marathon, Texas was held virtually at the MICA Student Space Gallery in April 2020, and he exhibited most recently at the Ro2 Art Gallery in Dallas, Texas in the duo-exhibition Ephemera(lity) in August 2021. Greenwald plans to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts in the Fall of 2022 at the New York Academy of Art.

Calhan Hale

Calhan Hale was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 with a double-major in advertising and studio art. Hale has shown work at Wrong Marfa in Marfa, TX and Martha's Contemporary in Austin, TX. Hale participated in Casa Lü’s artist residency program in Mexico City and Wrong Marfa’s artist residency program in Marfa, TX in Fall 2021.

Hale is currently based in Austin, where she continues her focus on oil and acrylic painting.

Artists: About

George Kelly

George Kelly was born in Fort Worth, Texas. At the age of four, his family moved to the small west Texas town of Albany. Kelly graduated from Texas Tech University in 2016 and worked in the construction industry, then returned to school in 2019 taking studio classes at the University of North Texas in Denton. He is currently the preparator at Talley Dunn Gallery in Dallas, TX.

Kelly works in a variety of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking.

Benjamin Loftis

Benjamin Loftis was born in Dallas, Texas and shared residences in Texas and New Mexico. He graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2020. He is pursuing a Master’s degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Loftis currently lives and works in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Madi Ortega

Madeline Ortega was born in Dallas, Texas in 1997. In 2019, she graduated with a BFA in Glass at the University of Texas at Arlington and is currently pursuing an MFA, focusing in sculpture, at Texas Christian University. Ortega has exhibited in various spaces across Texas, including Abilene’s Center for Contemporary Arts, Dallas’ new Cluley Projects, and 500x. She currently lives in Hurst, Texas.

Tiffany K. Smith

Tiffany K. Smith was born in Pasadena, California in 1988. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with her Bachelor of Art in 2011, and went on to work at a contemporary art gallery and Side Streets Projects, a local non-profit where she taught art. She developed a passion for teaching and left the gallery in 2014 to pursue her Master of Education at UCLA. From 2016 to 2021, she taught social studies to middle and high school students in Los Angeles public schools. In 2021, Tiffany retired from teaching to become a full-time artist and moved to Austin, Texas. Her work has been shown in Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Austin.
